brings the “Heart of Europe” to Mexico
The recital entitled in Spanish “Desde el Corazón de Europa” (From the Heart of Europe) organized by the Council for Culture and Arts of Nuevo León (CONARTE) thanks to the sponsoring of the METALTEX MEXICO and the support of the Czech Embassy brings the pianist Ivo Kahánek (1979) for the first time to Mexico.
On October 22, the great Czech pianist delighted the audience of Monterrey (Mexico) with his great talent at the Theater “Centro de las Artes” (Center of the Arts). During the recital, works by classic composers such as Chopin and Beethoven were heard, as well as some of the great Czechs such and Janácek and Smetana.
Kahánek described by experts as a musician of tremendous emotional power, expressiveness and depth and considered today the best pianist in the Czech Republic, studied with Ivan Klansky. In 2004 was winner of the Prague International Summer Music Competition. After his successful debut, he has been invited to perform with different Symphony Orchestras, including the BBC Symphony Orchestra for which he participated in The Proms (London), the Czech Philharmonic Orchestra and the WDR Orchestra in Cologne (Germany). He has recorded 14 albums for the main record label of the Czechia, Supraphon, obtaining extraordinary reviews from prestigious music magazines such as Diapson d’Or, MusicWeb Iternational, Choix de Classique HD, among many others.
