In order to favour its development in China, Metaltex purchased at the start of 2010 30.000 m2 of land in a new industrial area of Yangjiang, west of the Pearl River Delta.

The Metaltex experience in China has grown in strength since it began in the early 1980’s with outsourcing activities.
In 1992 the Canton (Guangzhou Metaltex) plant was established near the old Bayun airport.
A model plant which obtained SA 8000 certification in 2002, the first houseware company in China to achieve this certification.

Today the plant is spread over approximately 10.000 m2 and manufacturing wire housewares. It has a 400 m2 showroom with more than 1,000 products on display and has become an important reference point for many buyers during the Canton trade fairs in April and October.

For all those interested in visiting the showroom which is located just 30 minutes from the Canton Trade Fair, Metaltex organises a shuttle service which departs directly from the fair grounds close to the Metaltex stand which also acts as a meeting point.

Metaltex in Asia today now has other well established facilities: to date the PRD outsourcing (the area in the Pearl River Delta) is managed by the Hong Kong branch (Metaltex Pacific) which also has a liaison office in Canton.

For the outsourcing in the rest of China, paying particular attention to the areas of Shanghai, Ningbo and Xiamen, Metaltex has another liaison office.

To date 25% of the employees of the Metaltex group is located in China.
