Last Friday, 1 February 2007, the Swiss Ambassador in Beijing, Dante Martinelli, visited the city of Canton in South China.
Accompanied by the Swiss Consul General of Canton, Werner Nievergelt, and by other Swiss diplomats who were present in China, Ambassador Martinelli stopped at Metaltex, which is situated in the metropolis on the Pearl River, near Bayun Airport.

Since 1991, Metaltex, whose production plant has been present in China since the ‘90s, has the honour of co-sponsoring the National Swiss Celebration held on 1 August at the Beijing Embassy with the excellent Merlot produced in Canton Ticino.
